Jess Favourite Books (8 years old)

Hello and welcome to the blog!

Last month I featured all the books that William is enjoying so far and now its Jessica’s turn!

Unipiggle

Welcome to Twinkleland Kingdom, where everything is 100% perfect. Except Princess Pea – she loves getting muddy and having fun and she’s not keen on choosing her own perfect unicorn at the Royal Unicorn Parade. Until the final unicorn turns out to be a podgy, pongy, proud, magic-horned…pig? And so the adventures of Princess Pea and Unipiggle begin!

Meet the princess who loves breaking the rules, and her Royal Unicorn who happens to be a pig… or, rather, a Unipiggle!

Pinky Spinks

Pinky Spinks keeps a sweet shop in a small village. She is very popular because her sweets are so delicious but unknown to most people she uses magic to solve all sorts of problems. From naughty children to cruel people, Pinky cures them all. And how does she practice her magic? Why mostly with magic sweets of course!

Matilda

Matilda is the world’s most famous bookworm, no thanks to her ghastly parents.
Her father thinks she’s a little scab. Her mother spends all afternoon playing bingo.
And her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull?
She’s the worst of all.
She’s a big bully, who thinks all her pupils are rotten and locks them in the dreaded Chokey.
Despite these beastly grownups trying to push her down, Matilda is an extraordinary girl with a magical mind.

And she’s had enough.
So all the terrible adults had better watch out, because she’s going to teach them a lesson they’ll never forget!

Tabby Mctat

Tabby McTat loves singing along with Fred the busker, as people throw coins in their hat. But when Fred has an accident, the two are separated. Will they ever find each other again?
“Me, you and the old guitar,
How perfectly, perfectly happy we are.
Meee-Ew and the old guitar.
How perfectly happy we are!”

James and the Giant Peach

James Henry Trotter lives with two ghastly hags. Aunt Sponge is enormously fat with a face that looks boiled and Aunt Spiker is bony and screeching. He’s very lonely until one day something peculiar happens. At the end of the garden a peach starts to grow and GROW AND GROW. Inside that peach are seven very unusual insects – all waiting to take James on a magical adventure. But where will they go in their GIANT PEACH and what will happen to the horrible aunts if they stand in their way? There’s only one way to find out…

Meet the Twitches

Meet the Twitches, four tiny rabbits who live inside a Teacup House.

They belong to a girl called Stevie and she loves playing with them. But guess what? These toy rabbits have a secret. They come alive when Stevie isn’t looking!

Open up the Teacup House – and meet four little rabbit heroes with big ideas!

🙂 We are currently waiting for the second unipiggle book and think it will also be added to the list!
