Its December already!!!!! Not long till the big day 😀
I decided to start elf on the shelf after Will and Jess spotted them in the supermarket last month (and brought them same day) but instead of the traditional arrival (as already playing with them weeks before) they started causing mischief when December hit- must be the xmas magic 😛 So already a twist- and they will stay till decorations go back up in the loft! (supposed to go back Christmas eve)
So what is it all about?
Elf on the Shelf is a newish (started from 2005) Christmas “tradition” where the kids welcome home one of Santa’s Scout Elves each year. The magical Scout Elves help Santa manage his naughty and nice lists by taking note of a family’s Christmas adventures, and reporting back to Santa at the North Pole nightly. Each morning, the Scout Elf returns to its family and perches in a new spot, waiting for someone to spot them. Children love to wake up and race around the house looking for their Scout Elf each morning.
You can tell Santa’s Official Scout Elves apart from other elves at the North Pole because they arrive in their official solid red jumpsuit- but you can really use any kind of elf.
Im having so much fun already (Probably regret saying this in years to come) and love seeing the kids faces in the morning- or Jess telling them off!
Here is what those elf’s have been upto so far….
1- Cup of tea and pjs on
2- Snow angel with flour (happy it was not my gluten free)
3- They wanted breakfast
4- Cleaning teeth and using m y face cream
5- Bungie jump with toilet roll (was going to roll down the stairs but the cat had other plans)
6- Claude having a check up
7- Some colouring in
8-Sleeping in our bed and one has nicked my sleep mask!
9- Train ride
😀 Wonder what they will get up to this week?
Its great to think of new places to move them and if you get stuck there are lots of ideas on facebook and pinterest. There are some rules about if a kid touches them that there magic disappears and have to wait till the next day but I say go with the flow- its supposed to be fun.
