Reason 2 Rhyme Poetry Prompt – “Postcard Poem”

kbnelson’s Poetry Prompt… 8/8/12

Write a poem in the disguise of a postcard message. Continue by writing a reply postcard message.

Keep the length brief, and give the recipient a sense of the place you’re visiting or the space you’re occupying. The location from which you write can be imagined or real. Alternatively, buy a postcard, and try to write a poem based on the image or photograph on the front of the postcard.

Here is mine-

Dear Grace,

Sitting here in the living room

Thinking of days that have past

My life is now empty

You left me too soon

Missing you everyday my love

Hope you have now settled in up there?

My darling gracey

We shall meet again

Yours forever Charlie

X

Dear Charlie

Im missing you so much too my dear

Im sorry I left unexpectedy- believe me I did not know!

Heaven is scenic and delightful

Not at all what people think it could be

Think you will like it here my Charlie

Just you wait abit longer to see!

Yours always -Grace

P.s- I love you
