Dark Secret

I’m linking up with JB47’s 100 Word Challenge.Week 41 – 100 word count challenge prompt – Bones

In a quiet suburban village lived a man with a dark secret, a secret that has lived with him for years. Everyday he had to pretend to be someone he wasnt, he thought he should get a new job as an actor he convinced people so well- only if they knew that he was the opposite of what he mirrored.

For you see, in his well kept bungalow in this friendly neighbourhood is where his secret lies. As if you go down into the basement, there in the darkest corner is a box- full of bones that once belonged to someone.

  3. Was a tricky prompt and thought why not write something dark as an extra challenge hehe xx

  4. A big secret here! Whose bones do they belong to? Sinister and dark. Love the way this is juxtaposed with the friendliness of the neighbourhood.

  5. Sandra says:

“Bones” does lend itself to darkness, doesn’t it? I like the contrast between quiet suburbia and the man’s dark secret.

I like the ‘onion’ effect of this one. Every sentence is another layer being removed, sending us closer to the heart of the matter.

He seems to think about it a lot…. It’s obviously getting to him!!
